Cloverfield redesigned by Rodrigo-Vega Cloverfield redesigned by Rodrigo-Vega
So this is my cloverfield desing for the... cloverfield design contest.
Whatever, its pretty self-explanatory the text says it all.

I wanted to make something different that wouldn't look like anything from this planet, since i noted most designs look like fishes, reptiles, insects or... things from this planet, well i tried to avoid that.

By the way, what i am supposed to do with this drawinig?

Superb and imaginative design and far better than the original. Not sure about the need for a heat ray, but only because the creature is already horrifying already.

That movie would have been a lot more interesting with this monster replacing the actual one.

Its a very extreme and radical design that strays from the original, however it actually works in a positive way. This is probably one of the more unique monster designs I've ever seen. I'd truly be terrified if I ever saw this in real life, just looking at the image was unnerving. It looks a lot like some kind of mutant Starfish with it's tentacles and suction cups. The microwave effect it's scream attack does is also pretty interesting.

This is a terrific design! I run a pen & paper RPG called Anima Beyond Fantasy and this is perfect for a kaiju attack I was planning for the heroes to fend off!

I look at that mouth when its closed and then I looked at it when it was open. Despite following the arrows, I'm still having trouble following the intricacies of the how that thing opens up.

I prefer your version of the cloverfield monster. The monster of the movie have decieved me a little, even if i like the movie. I think the monster could be in the style of your version: like a biological nightmare created by Lovecraft.

A monster with a mouth that can move water molecules in any animal to where they boil like a lobster.

I hope you don't mind, but I used your oven idea on a creature of mine on Spore (Computer game by EA, Will Wright, and Maxis where you create creature either for show, adventures, or to conquer the galaxy.) called the Crowned Toxicreeper. It lives on an icy artificail planet codenamed Frostbite, where evolution has caused this species to have particularly large claws with glands at the end of them that can boil prey inside out so they don't get diseases carried by raw meat or for warming water in springs to remove parasites, or for personal warmnth.

I really applaud your trying (and succeeding) to create a design that has little or no relation to something of terran origin. Well done! Where can I find out more about this contest, Id like to see more entries.

You did what many do not think to do: create an alien that looks nothing like an "earth" creature, and you did a great job. In fact, I'm just glad you set out with that goal in mind. So many people forget this rule when making aliens. They're called ALIENS for a reason!

Of course, the anatomy is still earth-like, I suppose. Limbs, torso, head, etc. And the design looks human-internal organ inspired. Like a deformed human turned inside out. Still, its admirable.

If you like alien designs that really are otherworldly, I suggest tackling a design of the alien from HP Lovecraft's "The Colour Out Of Space." Best short story of an alien. Ever.
