Have a Green End of The World

Description

Not long ago I reached my own conclusion about not only the most likely but somehow (an this is very grim.. creepy, wrong, etc.) one of the most ... sadly desirable why not, end of the world scenario.
I'm talking of course about our world, the world of humans. This are our last days. You can't imagine how resilient life and the planet are, and the cosmic happenings that might even dare to mean them any signifficant threat are too far into the dephts of a future time and space for us to even worry.
Our species however, is bound to extinction, all species are. Usually a vertebrate species won't last more than a couple million years and ours has been running around for about that time. But is our particular way of playing with the funcioning of life that can really get us into trouble.
So far the only thing medical progress has been doing is to tests bacteria and viruses agains their weaknesses, saving them from all the trouble and the pain it would regulary take them via natural selection. This sounds like a great idea... except if we run out of weaknesses.
It is humanity's greatest strenght, to be with each other, what might end our ways. The world's globalization has created the perfect petri dish in which a super patogen can spread. In this very moment as I write, there are massive ammounts of people travelling back and from every point in the world. Just make it airborne an resistant to known antibiotics and there would be just no where to run.
It is of course something terrible, meaning the death of millions and millions... but we would be cutted clean from the tree of life. We wouldn't drag the entire biosphere with us into our misery as would a nuclear war, excesive growth of the world population or an ecological disaster that would cause the suffering and deaths of millions of people AND the suffering and extinction of so many other species. Even our pets might survive, the grass would grow on the streets and there would be wildlife taking the city for it's own (but no vampires, sorry)
Is this Nature's way to tell us "You better start walking straight or I'll kill you just like I killed the martians in The War of the Worlds"? Is there any abailable happy ending? can we walk back our footsteps away from modern civilization, somehow decresing our population for the world to handle it as it is mean to in a way that wouldn't cause maybe even more early deaths? I dearly hope so.
Maybe I'll be only the end of our civilization, maybe the "primitive" cultures that live isolated deep in the jungles and desserts will be saved. Just to start again, hopefully with a different mind, into a different world.
The End is unavoidable one day very single Homo sapiens will have died, how long it will take an which will be the quality of the lifes involed before those deaths, and the well being of the remaining species is what matters. If we want to choose the correct ending, we have to choose a correct way of life for us all.
