Horror film monsters II

Description

I think that for today's standards most of the monsters on this page wouldn't make it to what most people would call "horror". However those particular creatures are inspired by early, low budget, science fiction films. I guess people would freak our more easily back then and it only take some rubber octopus and a bucket of ooze to make them scream in terror.

961) Melancholic spectre: Ghosts. They are the subject of many a horror film. If you think about it, there isn't much danger around ghosts, the only reason people is afraid of ghosts is because its unatural and they are not used to them. But can they make any actual harm? I mean, in the worst of cases they can throw you glass or push you on the stairs. But usually no one is ever harmed.

962) Avölva: Some kind of witch. There are some witches around in horror films too. I don't feel like checking wich ones were. The general law for classic horror monsters is to think about typical halloween costumes and make them cooler.

963) Saturnian masklo: This one is based in those cheap B-movies from the 50s or something that were little more than a rubber chicken held in the air with some strings. I added some facehugger features to make it a little bit more decent as if it was made out real fleash. Still I intentionally made it like a cheap design, the eyes, etc.

964) Possessed one: It is no rare to see some kind of deformation on victims of demonic possessions and extremelly unusual behaviour. I had to do something pretty drastic that would allow me to say I invented this thing, at least the effect of the possession as a concept on its own.

965) The Subject: Sometimes it doesn't matter were a creature comes from and only matters the fact that its there. this creature could be an alien, a demon, some sort of spirit, a creature from another dimension, you never know. Sometimes films can use combinations of this origins or just not give any information about it at all.

966) Maskman: Some sort of surreal terror, most likely from inside someone's dreams or something. We've seen pretty much of that too, monsters that in one way or another are not real, but they are very real and powerful inside our minds.

967) Rhedaosaurus harryhausenis: You must know this film The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms. Everybody loves Godzilla, he copletely earned that, but all you Godzilla fans out there must admit this film is ... you know, its a giant "dinosaur" sleeping there for a particular long period of time from an unlikely recent time for a dinosaur, that breaks havoc in an important city. >_> And I like stop motion better than guys in costume.

968) Underfolk: See? I'm slowly getting away from horror monster into sci-fi. This are some kind of mole People ... something like the morloks from The Time machine. People would love to have something bad and deformed living below them just be able to fight them.

969) Soulburners: Two exposed brains in a single page? That can't be right.
I made this weird aliens to emulate space invaders from early cinema, you know the whole thing with blasters and stuff to disintegrate the terrans.

It’s kind of hard to make out the numbers of these creatures that tell you what they are, other than that these monsters look awesome!
