This is a perfect illustration of the duality of the human being. One part composed of logic, reason and forethought that fortifies the decisions in our lives and the feeling, emotion and passion that propels our wills forward. Although these two components of the human spirit are meant to to make us more whole, they often seem to be at war with each other; splitting us apart which is the metaphor conveyed in this work. Amazing work!
Hi, I am an editor for a college poetry publication, the Clay Bird Review, and we really love your piece! We actually have a poem that we think works really well with your artwork and we were wondering if we could have your permission to match it to a poem and post it on our Facebook page!
I love this picture! Heart is driven by Fire and Love and Acts on Passion, while the Brain is driven by Electricity (neurons firing and brain synapses) and Intellect and Decides on Information; Locked in a constant battle!
this reminds me of myself kinda. I'm split with what to do with myself. Brains is winning over brawn by miles though. Straight 4.0 all year, 2 math awards, at times had 100.1 percent in a class, actually going to do an Algebra classes later this summer. Yes, I'm doing things with my young life.
I see a great dell of symbolism in this. Kind of like person personal struggle to go with the desires of the heart that could initially conflict with what you know to be right or wrong. Anyway great work
