This is something I've been wanting to do for quite some time.
For those of you who have ever asked; IRIRIV was some type of decomposition of a Tolkien-monogram-sort-rip-off-thing I used as personal symbol for like a month when I was 16/17? and created this account. Ever since, my Deviant Account became a pretty big thing (for me at least) becoming one of my main means of expressing myself, showing my work to friends and public and even as a major source of professional work. Eventually the name stuck and when you are not a premium account it's pretty much written in stone...
Point being the name carried some problems: It was unpronounceable, so that it required to be spelled or directly linked at all times. It was hard to remember with precision, so even people familiar with it would have a hard time googling it or referring it to friends and colleagues. And probably worst of all it was more famous than me. My account and me are not titans, but on it's way to 11.000 watchers, it's certainly biggish and having worked in several fields and projects, rather often I stumble upon my work outside of DA or learn that people has already done so, yet no one makes the connection that IRIRIV is me.
I considered it a reasonable step in my professional career to make myself sure that people who has seen my work knows who I am. I also considered the opportunity of using a nickname or artistic name; maybe Rodir, as some of my friends call me, which I think would also help English speakers be able to properly pronounce my name : P.
But probably my real full name should do the trick.
Anyway, next step is probably creating a facebook page for my art. I have some followers that have added me there and though it's always really charming to meet the people who enjoys my work I'm.. not very sure that I could call them "friends" (even though some of them certainly became so!) so that sort of mixes thing up. So stay tuned for that too, I'll let you know when it's up.
I think that's it. Thanks for reading anyone who could possibly have been interested xD
So have a nice day everyone!

Just as a heads up, your link to your facebook MIGHT be broken.

It probably is. I used a pre-made journal template that I think had its original facebook attached to it... I couldn't change it all that easily when I started using it so I just kept it there.
How much of a lazy slob it makes me not to try a little harder?

Cool! Really you could have called yourself anything at this point and it'd be amazing.

only ever knowing you as a shadowy internet entity composed solely of awesome, this makes you no less ambiguous and mysterious, but I guess it does sort of make you look more artistically mature? older? more self confident? you know, like a beard.

You got yourself a username beard ^.^ it looks good on you.

Qué interesante lo de que con IRIRIV intentaste hacer algo tolkieano XD
Hay gente que prefiere que más bien los reconozcan por su seudónimo como Banksy y Martín Adán.

Haha it's funny that all the bad facts you mention never applied to me but actually made me like your name very much :D (Maybe it's easier for germans do pronounce your old name) I for my part really liked the old one but since I changed a lot myself with my username I totally understand your reasons. Good luck!

Your journal background makes it kind of hard to read in places (the darkest part of the bg and font almost blend together).
But more to the point. Good on you. I relished the oppurtunity to change my username when it came, being stuck with mangamaniac87 didn't suit me much anymore.
Not that I'm a serious art producer or anything, strictly a hobbyist here, but I really wanted something that sounded at least somewhat less teeny-dweeby.

Congrats on clearing out the outgrown user-name. This one suits well. :)
